I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, New Orleans weddings are my absolute favorite. I had never heard of the venue Race and Religious, but I know I’ll never forget it. This place is so slammed with character that there’s literally not a bad place to take a photo.
Ken and Shannon got ready at separate houses on the property but we all met up for the first look at Jackson Square, the same place where Ken proposed. After some photos and a much needed champagne break, we ventured around parts of the city stopping here and there for some portraits. Eventually we headed back to get ready for the ceremony and cool off. Yes, it was hot in June in New Orleans.
After the beautiful ceremony, they second lined around outside with Ken’s krewe, the amazingly awesome Rolling Elvi. It’s hard not to have fun with a bunch of people wearing Elvis getup and riding on their scooters. After first dances and dinner, it was dancing and fellowship all night, followed by a first for me – a fully dressed jump in the pool from the bride and groom. This wedding was perfect and I’m so thankful to have been there to document it.
Enjoy –
